Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment
In accordance with Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 23, 1994, “On the Establishment of the ‘Manaviyat va Marifat’ Republican Public Center,” and Resolution No. 288 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated June 8, 1994, the Republican Center for Spirituality Propaganda was established.
Pursuant to Resolution No. PP-451 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 25, 2006, “On Enhancing the Effectiveness of Promoting the National Idea and Spiritual-Educational Work,” the Republican Center for Spirituality Propaganda and the Scientific and Practical Center for National Idea and Ideology began operating as separate organizations based on the Republican Council for Spirituality and Enlightenment.
On July 28, 2017, following Resolution No. PP-3160 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Enhancing the Effectiveness of Spiritual-Educational Work and Raising the Field to a New Stage of Development,” the activities of both the Republican Center for Spirituality Propaganda and the Scientific and Practical Center for National Idea and Ideology were merged to form the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment.
Resolution No. PP-5040 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 26, 2021, “On Measures for Radical Improvement of the System of Spiritual-Educational Work,” marked a significant step in increasing operational efficiency. The Institute of Socio-Spiritual Research and the “Target Fund for the Support of Spirituality and Creativity” were established under the Center, along with the launch of the Oyina.uz spiritual-educational portal.
The Center acts as founder/co-founder of the journals “Tafakkur”, “Manaviy Hayot”, and “Jahon Adabiyoti”, and oversees the operation of the “Manaviyat” Publishing House.
The Center functions as the executive body of the Republican Council for Spirituality and Enlightenment, chaired by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
