The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in his greetings to the participants of the International Forum of Islamic Civilization, which is being held for the first time in Uzbekistan, emphasized that in today’s complex and dangerous times, science, enlightenment, culture and high moral values are a solid foundation of peace, mutual trust and sustainable development.
The head of our state noted that Islamic civilization has made an incomparable contribution to the development of world science and culture over the centuries, and New Uzbekistan consistently continues the deep study, preservation and wide promotion of the heritage of great ancestors as one of the priorities of state policy.
Also, the President emphasized that the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan today is becoming an influential international scientific and humanitarian arena connecting East and West, history and modern science, and called on all countries and international organizations to work together in the direction of science, enlightenment and mutual cooperation.
"We strongly believe that science and enlightenment are the greatest unifying force of our time, that it will remain the basis of creativity, peace and sustainable development," the President’s address reads.
